COVID-19 / Coronavirus: Our Response

We imagine that, like us, you are thinking about the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on your employees, customers and your community.

Here at JourneyApps, our priorities are to help our customers, keep our employees safe, and sustain our business operations.

There will be no interruptions with our service, and we’re fully committed to supporting your business by continuing to deliver responsive support to you and your team during this time of uncertainty.

Furthermore, we have implemented a number of protective actions:

1. Remote work for all employees:

Social distancing is the best measure that we have to combat the spread of Coronavirus proactively. Therefore, JourneyApps has recommended that all employees work from home wherever possible as of Thursday, March 12, 2020 until we reassess this guidance at the end of March.

Fortunately, JourneyApps is very well geared for remote work. All our employees use laptops as their primary work stations, and we use a combination of sophisticated collaboration and communication tools to stay in sync, focused and productive, no matter where team members are working from.

2. Limiting personal proximity

On occasion, some employees may have to make use of our offices while the remote work guidance is in place (although we strongly advise against this for employees with underlying health conditions and/or compromised immune systems). We expect that having fewer people in the office will meaningfully reduce the risk of exposure and the spread of viruses within our office.

We have taken steps to limit contact for those in the office including limiting in-person meetings, reminding people to maintain a safe distance (6 ft.) from one another and encouraging people who don’t need to be in the office to stay home.

3. Office sanitization and personal preventive actions

Our janitorial services are sanitizing the surfaces in the office twice daily.

We have also advised all employees of the CDC recommended preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses:

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and/or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing. Discard tissue immediately into a closed bin.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

4. Self-quarantine measures

As of now, no JourneyApps employees have shown symptoms of COVID-19.

Employees have been advised that if they are sick, or have any of the main symptoms associated with COVID-19 (fever, cough or shortness of breath), they should remain at home until fully recovered and without symptoms for at least 24 hours.

5. Travel and events

All non-essential work-related travel, including conferences, has been cancelled or postponed at this time.

Team events have also been postponed or canceled until further notice.

In closing

We will continue to monitor this fluid situation to ensure that everyone remains safe while ensuring continuing smooth operations.

We hope everyone stays safe and healthy. Please take care of yourself, your family, and your loved ones and let us know if there is anything we can do to help during this difficult time.

All the best,

Conrad Hofmeyr, CEO
